Fortnite OG Season 5 is Back in the Game!

What is “new” in the OG Fortnite Season?

On the 2nd of November 2023, Epic Games released a brand new update after the end of Chapter 4 in Fortnite Battle Royale regarding an OG Season coming back to the game. From the leaks, players were excited to see that their request was coming true and that they would have received a season with the Chapter 1 map and items. During the day, Fortnite was updated by Epic Games and players were delighted to see the Season 5, Chapter 1 OG map in the battle royale mode. Unfortunately, the Save The World (STW) game mode hasn’t been changed with this huge nostalgic update regarding the battle royale.

This amazing “new” season of Fortnite comes up with some of the old items though they are a bit modified. Their texture is noticeably different than in Chapter 1 but that is completely normal and understandable as the old textures might have had inaccuracies or they could have been too pixelated. The gun’s sounds have also been clearly altered. Personally, we prefer the older sounds, the new ones sound too soft.

With the new season in the game, Epic Games has announced that the map will change once per week, going through seasons 5, 6, 7, and 8 and finishing with 9 and X. This news has saddened the player base a bit, but this won’t stop the community from having fun this month on Fortnite.

With every season comes a cool battle pass for players to complete along with some quests. This season is no exception and as always the price for the battle pass is 950 V-Bucks and if you wish to buy 25 additional tiers, that is gonna cost you about 2,750 V-Bucks. Let’s have a look at what the battle pass offers this time since it is quite different than a normal season. This battle pass features 4 different skins with multiple customization presets and styles, some of them representing the old Chapter 1 Season 5 skins from the old battle pass back in the summer of 2018.

SPECTRA KNIGHT

By buying the battle pass this skin is automatically unlocked and given to the player without having to complete any quests or buy tiers with stars, it is located on the 1st page of the OG pass. Additional styles for the Spectra Knight can be received by completing weekly quests. Those will appear as this month’s season’s map changes (as mentioned before). This skin looks very similar to the Red Knight that was available on the Item Shop on the first day of the OG Season.

LIL SPLIT

This awesome-looking skin is found on the 2nd page of the battle pass and can only be unlocked by buying the OG pass. It also requires level 8 on top of spending battle stars in order to finally receive it in your locker. It has a style that you can unlock once players hit level 14 named Matcha Lil Split. In our personal opinion, this skin looks pretty decent and also a bit goofy, definitely something to play with!

RENEGADE LYNX

When the player reaches level 22, this skin will be unlocked for them to claim with battle stars. Found on page 4, this skin clearly reminds players of the Season 5 Chapter 1 battle pass skin named Lynx. This skin also has 2 additional styles to unlock by reaching level 30 for the Dark Storm Renegade Lynx and by completing the battle pass players unlock the ability to perform bonus quests to unlock bonus rewards which include the Magmatic Renegade Lynx style.

OMEGAROK

From the first looks, the name and the appearance of the skin remind users of the OG Ragnarok skin from the Chapter 1 Season 5 battle pass. As mentioned before, multiple skins remind players of OG battle passes. This is obviously intentional by Epic Games. This skin can be found on page 6 of the battle pass at level 38. An extra style can be unlocked once you reach level 46. It is mandatory to mention that the current OG pass has only 48 levels due to the season only lasting about a month.
